Well as I'm sure most of you know by now, our country has been on a "lockdown" since about mid-March (or at least my area has been), which means the beauty industry has been deemed "non-essential business," and I have not been working since.
It has been very weird for me to suddenly stop working, cold turkey. I've been working for 18+ consecutive years, and if I've ever been unemployed, it hasn't been for long. I'm one of those people who love what I do for a living and am constantly thinking of my business and the beauty industry, and am ALWAYS watching/looking at hair videos and pictures. Not to mention, I miss my clients - seeing them, talking to them, just being in the salon in general, is something I now miss like crazy.
So - since I'm not able to work in the salon -a LOT of my clients have asked what to do with their hair until they're able to get back to a salon. Here are some tips for your hair needs while you're at home:
- DO NOT, under any circumstances, DO NOT CUT YOUR OWN BANGS! Also, don't let anyone else cut your bangs. Yall don't know what your doing! Haha! If you're feeling that itch to cut your own bangs, CALL or FaceTime me, and I will help you!
- Do call or text your stylist if you've got questions about your hair, whether it's about your color, your haircut, etc.
- DON'T run to the grocery store (or order on Amazon) to get box hair color. Once the salon opens back up and you get your appointment with your stylist, you'll most likely end up spending more money than before to fix that box color!
- DO ask your stylist if they're offering "at-home" hair color kits, or if they have any tips or tricks for covering grey hair.
- DON'T think you're a pro at haircuts! Don't suddenly think you can cut your spouse's or kids hair. Chances are - you can't!
I hope these do's and don'ts help you out! Want to know more or have questions of your own? Shoot me an email at emstylist17@gmail.com with any questions!
